Who we are

METHOD(“we”) operates method-coffee.co.uk, a UK coffee brand. For anything in this policy, contact support@method-coffee.co.uk.

What we collect

Two things. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you give us. As you browse, we collect basic usage events: which pages you view, checkout steps you reach, an anonymous session identifier, and your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address by our hosting provider). We never store the IP itself, and we never collect card or payment details anywhere on this site.

Cookies and analytics

We use sessionStorage, a small note in your browser that disappears when you close the tab, to avoid counting you twice. We also use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 in consent mode with storage denied: they send Google aggregated, cookieless signals, and no analytics or advertising cookies are set on your device. If you arrive from one of our ads, the link may carry tags (like utm_source) telling us which ad brought you; ad platforms such as Meta may add their own click identifiers, which are governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

Why we collect it

The waitlist email is used for one thing: telling you when the next batch is available. That's consent-based, so you can unsubscribe at any time and we'll delete your address. Usage events are our legitimate interest in understanding demand for the product: how many people visit, how many try to order, and which channels they come from. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.

Where it lives

Data is processed by our infrastructure providers: Vercel (site hosting) and Upstash (database, hosted in London, UK). Both act as processors on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails: until we've completed launch communications, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. Usage events: up to 12 months, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@method-coffee.co.uk and we'll action it within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
